Treatments

Conditions that may require treatment mainly derive from faults within the bodies soft tissue systems. As long as there are no other existing underlying causes, effective application of Remedial and Acupressure Massage to the correct areas will bring about beneficial change. If you are wondering whether the treatments I offer would be suitable for you, please take a look at some of the more common areas of treatment below and get in touch if you have any queries about how I could help.

Working to treat the problem

Soft tissue includes muscles, tendons, ligaments, connective tissue, and fascia. Under certain conditions these structures can default away from their normal relaxed state causing composite fibres to hold tension and shorten or even go into spasm thus preventing smooth muscular contraction and relaxation. Pressure, manipulation and relaxed stretching of problem areas in soft tissue will cause the default fibres to correct themselves.

These default characteristics also alter the physical position, chemical balance and ability to facilitate smooth passage of blood, lymph and energy flow within the soft tissue. The result is often direct impingement onto nearby nerves. The nerve system registers these faults to the brain by way of causing pain. By correcting the original soft tissue through remedial and acupressure massage, nerve impingement is released and pain stops as the brain now receives a different message which is that the various systems are working correctly.

Remedial Massage Therapy to stop pain can either have instantaneous results or take time to fully achieve. We will work together to establish cause (ie lifestyle, job, leisure, PC requirements, emotional stress) then resolve or change it via treatment, diet, exercise advice, orthopaedic assessment or referral to alternative treatment.
